Formación y estudios realizados

Carlos Alberto Carcach estudió en la Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas (UCA), El Salvador, de donde se graduó en Administración de Empresas. Sus estudios de posgrado iniciaron con una maestría en Estadística en el Centro Interamericano de Seguridad Social, México. Más adelante, en Australia, en la Australian National University of Canberra (ANU) realizó su posgrado en Economía; después de esto, obtuvo su doctorado en Econometría en The University of New England.

Experiencia laboral

El doctor Carcach posee una extensa experiencia académica y profesional. Su labor principal, además de la docencia, es la investigación y la consultoría; algunos de sus cargos han sido: Consultor independiente, investigador principal para el Research Triangule Institute, North Carolina, investigador líder en el Australian Institute of Criminology, Canberra y Estadístico en el Australian Bureau of Statistics, Canberra y en la Government Statistician’s Office del gobierno de Queensland, Brisbane, Australia.

El doctor Carcach ha publicado ampliamente en revistas académicas. Así mismo, ha conducido investigación y consultoría sobre distintas temáticas tanto en el sector público como en el privado.
Actualmente trabaja en los temas de desarrollo económico y criminalidad, y sobre carreras criminales.

Experiencia como docente

El doctor Carcach ha sido docente en la Universidad Centroamérica José Simeón Cañas (UCA) y en la Universidad Dr. José Matías Delgado, El Salvador, Además, él ha sido profesor visitante de la Universidad de Costa Rica y Universidad de New England, Australia; e investigador visitante en las Universidades de Leiden, Holanda, Cambridge y Sheffield en el Reino Unido. Desde el 2003 es parte de la familia ESEN, esto le ha permitido acumular treinta y tres años de experiencia como docente.

Actualmente, Carlos Carcach es el coordinador de investigación en la ESEN, así como catedrático a tiempo completo de materias como:

  • Estadística y Probabilidad
  • Inferencia Estadística
  • Econometría
  • Materias electivas de econometría de series temporales, de variables cualitativas y econometría aplicada.
  • Investigación de Mercados
